24th November Kolkata – The seventh edition of Bangladesh book fair was organised by the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission from 15th November at Mohor Kunj. This was a 9-day festival clubbed with cultural activities every evening at the premises.

Minister Approximately 50 publishers from Bangladesh participated in the fair with books from Bangladeshi writers and publishers. The cultural milieu of the event established the bonding between the two countries. Prominent publishers like Kakoli Prakasani, Pratibha Prakash, Atijya, Ananya, Ahmed Publishing House, Anyaprakash, Pratik Prokashon Songstha, Sandesh, Murdhanya, Bangla Prakash and others participated in the fair.

Immanuel Haque, the organiser of the event says to Woman Times, “Books are the best friend of a man and there can be no substitute for this. We had been organising this fair and it is increasing every year. This is also very vital to the relationship of Indo-Bangladesh as this sort of events can strengthen the bond between the two countries.”
Eminent personalities like Dr. Kamal Chowdhury, a noted poet, and the secretary to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, noted poet Subodh Sarkar, Janab Toufiq Hasan, and many were present at the event. Special guest artists like Somali Panda and Tirtha Sundar Biswas performed at the cultural event book the book fair.
