People know her as Neetu Saini – the lyricist, songwriter/lyricist, poetess, Shayri, writer. By her sheer talent, she has reached the hearts and souls of many admirers and audiences through her good work, write-ups, lyrics which are filled with the reality that connect with people’s lives and emote a lot of compassion for humanity.
Life and Neetu Saini have been good friends so far where both nurture and complement each other well. For her, life is a lyrical journey which is inspired by all her experiences in life – be it good or bitter. Her inspiration for writing comes from her life experiences, analyzing, learning from nature and all God’s creations which help her evolve into a better writer and bring out different flavors of life through writing.
As Neetu speaks on life, “It has made me a better person while traversing the various phases of my life’s journey. Today I’m here as Neetu Saini Dil Se, where Dil se is my pet phrase. I’m also known as Dil se Girl and I’m really happy about it as whatever I write is all actually from my Dil se.”
“The struggle of women can be categorized in three points – women often don’t express themselves clearly what they want or don’t want in life. The second one is that it’s commonly observed that women tend to lose their identity and personality while playing different roles in the circle of life. The third is that women generally happen to hand over the steering wheel of their lives to others to steer them through. Whereas the approach should be listening to all but finally decide what’s best for you.”
Neetu Saini is one of the few female lyricists and on asking her about the reason, she replies, “Traditionally film industry has been male-dominated in most of the areas but times are slowly changing and women are making rapid strides and making their presence felt in various genres. So I would say that contribution of females in lyrics writing is defiantly increasing significantly and surely they will make a mark for themselves.”
Not labeled under any particular genre of lyrics writing, she loves to experiment writing in different genres viz Ghazals, Bhajans, Kavalis, songs, item numbers, Sufi and so on. Her plan is simply to keep writing, working hard and creating work that touches the hearts and souls of people, be open to the opportunities and challenges that I come across.
Neetu Saini believes that every girl must be well educated and well informed about her surroundings. She should be bold, confident and aware of her rights to deal with any types of situations and people. Also, learn the basics of Self Defense Techniques for emergency situations.
Talking about the challenges faced by women who want to do different in life she admits being a part of it as well, but her will power and perseverance have helped her to sail through the initial inertia from her family and giving them enough reasons to allay all their fears and apprehensions and make a place for herself, be recognized as a lyricist in the industry through her work.
India is still growing on the concept of Intellectual Property or Asset and being an artist herself she thinks that any beginner or fresher has to struggle to get all the benefits in the industry. This should change as the artistic creation is the intellectual asset of the creative individual and hence the royalty must be given to him/her along with the due recognition. Saini loves to grow as an artist emotionally, creatively and artistically. Stay the course, overcome the challenges, and work towards ensuring that her creative work and lyrics reach the people so that they derive entertainment, happiness, peace, and solace from it.
