Women Matter

All good characteristics is not a definition of women…Let us come out of the stereotypical shell and explore all that is gray. Jahnabi Mitra delves in the greyish women matter.

Men have many faults, women-only two:

Everything they say, everything they do.

Woman.

The most romanticized, the most lusted after concept ever that literature and art ever created. The Femme Fatale, the Vixen, the Siren, the Seductress, the Mistress, the Damsel in Distress – are all her names.

The most coveted and talked about topics of all time and yet contemplated upon by the male venom…… the woman couldn’t take it anymore. She unleashed the alpha in her. She started walking and sharing the pathway of the stronger sex. She broke the shackles of ad nauseum and walked past the clouds of inferiority.

Oh, what a walk! First, she walked a bit slow. She was anticipative of the reactions. ’Am I moving too fast? What are people going to say? How do I answer?”

She first took out her father’s suit and tie, walked into the boardroom and had put up her legs on the table. What’s that you are wearing today? “Androgynous dressing” she had her answer ready.

The cigarette and lighter soon came out of her pants pockets. Hanging around loosely between her index finger and middle finger that Dunhill and smoke coming out of her nostrils she analyzed the closing deal for the next business deal. It’s going to kill you soon, spoke her alter ego.

“Work or the smoke?” she asked out loud with a smirk on her face.

She crumples away a wrong assignment submitted by the employee. She no is a No. She hates inefficiency and excuses.

She wanted a family too, so she decided to find it within. She raised the child of her first intense romantic affair, without regrets, without looking back. She doesn’t ask, she doesn’t complain.

She has built her empire on her own.

She didn’t have time for a man to come by and buy her that drink. She walked to the bar, ordered her own drink.

The “modern woman” has lost herself in the newfound world of power. She is now more open about her sexual preferences. She doesn’t tolerate it anymore. She has exposed how the unmitigated sway of the market and the cult of masculinity has combined to commodify and destroy women. She went beyond the boardrooms and challenged the artificial boundaries of sexism. From Politics to Playboy, she knows how to rule. She challenged the norms of computerized “ideal beauty” and accepted her real body. She completed the balance of yin and yang, within.

Perhaps, for once, she had it all…
