Kolkata, 16th Aug: In the midst of an escalating investigation into the harrowing rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College, the CBI has called upon four doctors for questioning this Friday. The 31-year-old trainee’s body, found partially unclothed in the seminar hall of the medical college on Friday morning, revealed chilling details. According to law enforcement, the heinous act occurred between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. The post-mortem report disclosed that the victim was brutally sexually assaulted before being strangled and suffocated to death. The report further detailed extensive injuries, including bleeding from her eyes and mouth, with marks on her face, nails, abdomen, left leg, neck, right hand, ring finger, and lips. Additionally, the victim suffered severe bleeding from her private parts.

The grotesque crime has incited widespread protests throughout the country, with the medical community fervently demanding a comprehensive investigation and stringent punishment for the perpetrators.
In response, Resident Doctors’ Associations (RDAs) across Delhi have organized a united protest march scheduled for Friday, August 16, beginning at 2 p.m. at Nirman Bhavan in the national capital. Concurrently, the Delhi Medical Association (DMA) convened an emergency meeting on Thursday to deliberate over the tragic incident, subsequently deciding to hold a candlelight march at India Gate at 5 p.m. today.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is set to lead a protest against RG Kar Medical College brutal case on March on Saturday, August 17, to advocate for justice on behalf of the victim. The rally will proceed from Moulali to Dharmatala in Kolkata.
