19th August, Kolkata: Under the aegis of Rashbehari Residents Forum, a general health camp was organized for the underprivileged people, who cannot afford the medical expenses for the reputed and best doctors, at Shubayan Banquet Hall near Lake Mall on 19th August throughout the day.
As the medical expenses are getting more expensive, affording a reputed doctor is a near-impossible factor for pursuing proper medical treatment for any underprivileged person. This camp has proved to be an initiative per se in bridging the gap between the poor patients and the doctors. The patients also got the support of free medical tests by different and renowned diagnostic centers of Kolkata.

The general secretary of the forum, Mr. Sudip Mazumdar says, “This is the first year that we have arranged such health camp and the response makes it a compulsion for us to arrange more of these in the years to come.” The health camp was graced by many politicians and ministers like Shovondeb Chattopadhyay, Firad Hakim, and Minister-in-Council Subrata Bakshi. A special honor was given to Suresh Dutta, the recent Padmashree award winner and a famous puppet artist, by Minister Shovondeb Chattopadhyay.
