City of Joy celebrates Bengali New Year 1424

15th April 2017, Kolkata: At the onset of the Bengali New Year the ‘City of Joy’ is mesmerized with the flavor of festivity of the beginning of a new Bengali calendar (1424). One of such celebration was the Poddar Nagar Sarbojanin Durgotsav at Jadavpur in Kolkata organized by Rahul Gupta Production which was a herald of the Durga Puja, Bengali’s most important festival.

This was for the first time that the ambiance of ‘Poila Boisakh’ merged with the serenity of the ‘Durga Puja’. Shovandeb Chattopadhaya, the Hon’ble Minister of Power & Non-Conventional Energy Sources, and Shri Gaur Dey, the President of Poddarnagar Sarbojanin Durgatsav Committee, inaugurated the program of ‘khuti pujo’ and ‘Boisakhi Adda’ which started at morning 10.30 followed by communion discussion and music.
