Indo-China cultural milieu in Kolkata

11th June 2018, Kolkata: The first ever attempt in the city of joy to bring together the cultural milieu of the two countries – China and India, the Chinese Consulate in Kolkata has arranged for a cultural evening at the GD Birla Sabhagar, where for the first time Indian and Chinese artists performed together on the same platform. There were songs, dance and acrobats. The evening started with a beautiful dance by a group from China followed by the song of eminent singer Usha Uthup and Mr. Sujay Chanda, Joint Commissioner of Kolkata Police has added feathers to the cap with many beautiful songs. The evening presented an extreme captivating moment when two Chinese singers beautifully sung a Bollywood song. With colourful dances and spectacular acrobats along with beautiful songs, the evening has brought forward a perfect amalgamation of the two neighbors – India and China.

The program was blessed by the presence of Venus Asawapoom (Consulate General of Thailand), Alexey Idamkin (Consulate General of Russian Federation), Thinlay Wangchuk (Consulate General of royal Bhutanese Consulate), Manmeet Singh Goindi (Director of SAI), Qin Guizhen (leading the Yunnan cultural delegation) and many other eminent personalities.

Mrs. Chaitali Das, the Managing Trustee of The Rakshak Foundation says, “My team and I had the privilege and honor to work closely with the Consulate in organizing this entertaining and informative event. To promote cross border and cross cultural bilateral relationship based on enhanced friendship through the engaging and entertaining medium of performing arts.”
