30th March 2017, Kolkata: On Thursday evening, an open-air staged program was organised on ‘Krishnamay’ promoting global sisterhood through music and dance, at Daga Nikunj in Kolkata featuring Guru Sanchita Bhattacharya and Dr. Amie Maciszewski from the USA.
Guru Sanchita Bhattacharya along with her troupe performed Odissi dance in the event where Dr. Amie Maciszewski from USA played the sitar in the company of Jyotirmoy Roy Chowdhury at the tabla. Composition from Geeto Govindam ‘Lailata Labanga Lata’ by Guru Sanchita Bhattacharya and other performances enlightened the show giving a flavour of Krishna mythology. A ‘jugalbandi’ of the sitar played by Dr Maciszewski and dance by Guru Sanchita Bhattacharya added to the show gripping the audience till the end of the program.
The greenery and the ambience set the perfect mood for the musical event with the Midas touch of spirituality.
