Kolkata, June 14th, 2024: MAAC CRU (Chowringee, Rashbehari, Ultadanga), a premier institute and pioneer in high-end 3D Animation, VFX, Gaming & Multimedia training for more than 23 years, is delighted to announce the successful conclusion of the ‘MAAC CRU Creative Carnival 2024’, held at ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS, Kolkata. This vibrant carnival featured three key segments: “DRONACHARYA SPEAKS” – an Industry Connect Seminar; ‘LEGENDS OF MAAC’ – Alumni Meet; and the ANNUAL FEST “Prayas” – a cultural event showcase. The carnival, filled with new learnings, felicitations, music, dance, and a celebratory atmosphere, left a lasting impression on all attendees, highlighting the immense talent nurtured by MAAC CRU and exposing them to the burgeoning AVGC (Animation, VFX, Gaming & Comics) Industry.
Naveen Choudhary (Director MAAC Kolkata), Rajiv Chilaka (Founder & Managing Director of Green Gold Animation Pvt. Ltd.), Niloy Kanti Biswas (Chief Executive Officer of Wackytoon Studio Pvt. Ltd.), Arnab Sanyal (2D Compositing Supervisor at ILM), Deepesh Bhansali (Senior Manager of Operational Excellence at Cimpress), Kallol Mukherjee (Vice President of Aptech Ltd.), Dr. Anuj Kacker (CEO of Aptech Ltd.), and Naina Choudhary (Director MAAC Kolkata) attended the event, which was inaugurated with a lamp lighting ceremony.
The Industry Connect segment, known as “Dronacharya Speaks – Where Wisdom Meets Aspiration,” brought together luminaries and dignitaries from the industry, including keynote speaker Dr. Anuj Kacker, Chief Executive Officer (Interim) of Aptech Limited, along with distinguished industry experts such as Mr. Arnab Sanyal from ILM, Mr. Rajiv Chilaka, founder and managing director of Green Gold Animation of CHOTA BHEEM fame, and Mr. Deepesh Bhansali from Cimpress. They shared their invaluable experiences, insights, and technical knowledge, fostering an enlightening exchange of ideas among AVGC students.
MAAC CRU recognized over 60 alumni from Kolkata (with a few joining online from across the world) as ‘Legends of MAAC’ and honored them for their remarkable achievements. This recognition showcased the success of MAAC students across the world’s leading studios and production houses. These alumni, from the MAAC Centres of Chowringhee, Rashbehari, and Ultadanga, were thrilled to return to their alma mater. They shared their journeys from students to industry professionals, offering insights into industry-specific skill sets.
More than 400 students entered the grand finale segment, using “Prayas” as an opportunity to showcase their talents, resulting in a spectacular display of creativity. The MAAC Creative Carnival unfolded as the ultimate manifestation of skill, talent, and creativity. The grand finale featured over 12 breathtaking performances, ranging from mesmerizing fashion shows by students of Lakme Academy Rashbehari & Nagerbazar, and electrifying dance-offs to soul-stirring singing competitions. Each act stood as a testament to the boundless creativity fostered at MAAC CRU.
