MAAC CRU Creative Carnival 2025 in Kolkata

Kolkata, May 16th, 2025:
MAAC CRU (Chowringhee, Rashbehari, Ultadanga), a premier institute and pioneer in high-end 3D Animation, VFX, Gaming, and Multimedia training for over 25 years, is delighted to announce the successful conclusion of the ‘MAAC CRU Creative Carnival 2025’, held at Uttam Manch, Kolkata.

This vibrant carnival featured three key segments:

  • “Dronacharya Speaks” – an Industry Connect Seminar

  • “Legends of MAAC” – MAAC CRU Alumni Meet

  • “Prayas” – the Annual Cultural Fest

The event was filled with new learnings, felicitations, music, dance, and a celebratory atmosphere, leaving a lasting impression on attendees. It not only showcased the immense talent nurtured by MAAC CRU but also introduced them to the rapidly growing AVGC (Animation, VFX, Gaming & Comics) industry.

The Industry Connect segment, “Dronacharya Speaks – Where Wisdom Meets Aspiration”, brought together luminaries and dignitaries from the field. The keynote speaker, Mr. Anirbandeep Dutta, Creative Director & Founder of Pixel & Ratio, was joined by distinguished experts such as Mr. Somneel Saha, Founder & CEO of Createon Games; Mr. Prateek Ghosh, CGI Asset Head/Production at Digitoonz; and Mr. Chandan Mukherjee, Creative Head at Four Colors. They shared invaluable experiences, insights, and technical knowledge, fostering an enlightening exchange among AVGC students.

Over 80 MAAC CRU alumni from Kolkata (with some joining online from across the globe) were recognized as “Legends of MAAC” and honored for their remarkable achievements. These alumni have secured positions in leading studios and companies such as Redefine, Red Chillies, DNEG, HCL Technologies, NY VFXWalla, PwC, Amazon, Cimpress, ILM, Rockstar Games, and many more. Alumni from the Chowringhee, Rashbehari, and Ultadanga centres returned to their alma mater to share their inspiring journeys from students to industry professionals, offering valuable insights into the specific skills required in the industry.

More than 500 students participated in the “Prayas Creative Hunt” competition, showcasing their talents in a spectacular display of creativity. The MAAC Creative Carnival culminated in a grand finale featuring over 12 breathtaking performances, including mesmerizing fashion shows by students of Lakme Academy Rashbehari & Nagerbazar, electrifying dance-offs, and soul-stirring performances by the CRU Band. Each act stood as a testament to the boundless creativity fostered at MAAC CRU.
