The weather may play hot or cold but Indian pakoras are always a delight to devour and here Soma Chakraborty presents ‘Squash-e-pakora’ which is a vegetable that comes from hilly areas and tastes sweet.
Ingredients:
Squash – 1 pc
Potato – 1 pc
Egg – 1 pc
Onion – 2 pcs
Garlic – 4 cloves (grated)
Ginger – 1 teaspoon (grated)
Poppy Seeds – 2 teaspoons
Turmeric powder – ½ teaspoon
Rice Powder – 2 teaspoons
Green Chillies (small pieces)
Salt to taste
For Garnish:
Green Chilli
Coriander Leaves
Cabbage Leaf
Method:
Boil the potatoes and smash them into a fine paste and mix egg, ginger paste, garlic paste, poppy seeds, turmeric powder, carom seeds, rice powder, grated onion, salt to taste to the batter. Then finely grate the squash into the batter and mix it well. Make small balls and add flour if the batter is loose; then deep fry the balls. Garnish them with slices of a cabbage leaf, coriander leaves, onions, and long sliced chilies. Serve hot with sauce.
