The Art of Decoupage

If the word Decoupage seems unfamiliar to you then let me tell you that it is a form of art of pasting coloured and decorated papers to revamp old pieces of stuff for a new and fresher look. This art form though was quite dormant but has in the past few years peeping out through the artists’ den. One such workshop ‘The Art of Decoupage by Pooja D Gupta’ at the Taj Bengal, Kolkata on 7th May 2017 edifies the interest groups to come out of the house and learn properly decoupage.

Pooja D Gupta who is a young enthusiast and a passionate decoupage entrepreneur is spreading the art of decoupage through her workshops where the women from all spheres join and learn the techniques of decoupage form of art. “I am an interior designer and I want to incorporate this in my profession,” says Manisha Agarwal. The workshop was successful in imparting the technicalities and finesse of the methods. Moumita Dasgupta, a Research Scholar at Calcutta University says, “I want to carry this forward as a hobby.” Women are well informed about the possibilities and growing industry of decoupage products or items.
