The city wakes up to the Flood call

Kolkata, 4th August: The flood situation in West Bengal has reached a grave situation and to rescue them unites few individuals, organisations and non-governmental organisations to collect relief materials for the flood victims on the 5th of August near the Academy of Fine Arts. The initiative is named ‘Pashe Achi‘ by the notable poet Lipi Chowdhury whose initiative has culminated in the relief aid collection event.
Heavy rain in West Bengal resulted in the massive flood in some of its districts. Notable personalities, cultural educationists, and NGOs will gather on the streets of Kolkata on the 5th of August near the Academy of Fine Arts to collect relief aid for the flood victims. Lipi Chowdhury says, “Our main goal is to collect aid, as much as possible, to provide some relief in the misery of the flood victims.” Other noteworthy people supporting her are Tirtha Sundar Biswas of Sahaj Manush, Emanuel Haque of Bhasha O Chetona Samiti, Debashish Mallick Chowdhury of Monmartre, Priyobrata Bera and Surajit Sengupta of the Jungle Mahal Udyog, Belghoria Touch, Nyle Bhattacharya, Tanuja Das from Pradnaya Welfare Society, Dr. Moumita Majumder Datta, Dr. Shyamal Mitra, Woman Times, different media representatives and other distinguished personalities has responded to the call.
