1st July 2017, Kolkata – Woman Times, in collaboration with MidasCure, organized a free health camp for women on the occasion of ‘Doctor’s Day’ celebrating the health of women at MidasCure chamber at Bhawanipur, Kolkata from 9 am onward. Shri Debashish Kumar, MMIC of Kolkata Municipal Corporation, honored the event by gracing the occasion followed by Sandeep Bakshi, the Councillor of Ward no. 72.

The camp provided free basic checkups like PFT, Blood Pressure, ECG, all vital parameters, and any recent or past query about the illness. Woman Times, a webzine dedicated to women, is working towards creating awareness and initiating camps and workshops to equip women with full knowledge about all aspects of life.

The founder of the webzine, Shanta Chakraborty says, “Health for women is very important and amidst their job or household chores or any kind of busy schedule they tend to ignore the basics of health maintenance. A yearly regular checkup ensures a better life for women like us.” The initiative is targeted towards generating health awareness among women, who shoulders the main responsibility of developing the family and society.

MidasCure, which collaborated with Woman Times, is a healthcare unit that caters all types of health services to patients. “It is a great way to celebrate the doctor’s day by serving the Shakti of society. A free checkup is an indirect awareness campaign to alert women about their health” says Dr. Shivkrishna Mitra, the proprietor of MidasCure.
