‘Ami Chitrangada’ – the first ever Tagore dance drama to be performed by a group of transgenders

7th July 2018, Kolkata – The whole universe seems to have awakened to the rational senses when it is seen that the society has started accepting the LGBTQ community and the humanity is going through a different phase altogether which is albeit virtuous. Megh Sayantan Ghosh, the first transgender lawyer to win a case at the Alipore Court, has set her limits to a different level and to extent an empathetic hands Guru Sanchita Bhattacharyya has come forward to lead the path for the common people to understand and accept the community. ‘Ami Chitrangada’, a Tagore’s dance drama curated and performed by Guru Sanchita Bhattacharyya with Megh Sayantan Ghosh, is a similar attempt to display the talents of the transgender community.

This Sunday evening shall be a landmark in the cultural history taking Tagore along with them the duo – Megh Sayantan and Guru Sanchita Bhattacharyya will perform at the ICCR. The evening will be graced by the Hon’ble Minister of Power and Non-conventional Energy,Shri Sovandeb Chattopadhyay and the Hon’ble Minster of Women and Child Welfare, Dr Sashi Panja followed by different dignitaries of the society.
