5th January 2018 – The Sonnet, Kolkata hosted “Utpala Das presents Fashion Fair”, an afternoon of a glamour-filled fashion show. The event showcased the launch collection by designers from renowned institutions like Pearl Academy, Glamour Fashion Interior, NSHM, Bhawanipore Gujarati Education Society, Global Institute Of Fashion Technology.
The collections were judged by a panel of celebrity judges, which included Moubani Sarkar, Actress, Darshana Banik, Brand Ambassador of Anjali Jewellers, Mou Baidya, Actress & Model, Mimi Das, Social Activist, Paramita Munsi, Director of ‘Guhamanab’.
“It has been an immense pleasure being invited to this event as a judge. Although this is something quite different from my field of work, I am thoroughly enjoying the vast array of creativity on the show”, shares activist Mimi Das with us.
Director of the film Guhamanab, Paramita Munshi says that she could see a lot of promising talent in the show and tremendous potential for growth of all the participating designers.
Actress Moubani Sarkar shares her inspiring words with the audience; speaking on how Calcutta has always been a home to ‘Art and Culture’ and how such initiatives prove it again and again that Calcutta will continue to be a home for art. The show was also graced by renowned fashion designers Ayan Hore & Debjani Mitra who were present at the show to encouraged upcoming new talents.
