First International Painting, Sculptor and Photography Exhibition and Competition organised by RICE

1st April 2019, Kolkata – The first ever International painting, sculptor and photography exhibition cum competition organised by Russia-India Cultural Exchange founded by Biman Bhattacharjee and coordinated by Nupur Mazumder, in association with Woman Times ended with a glorious closing ceremony with all the participants and dignitaries present at the event. The 4 days event was inaugurated by special guests, Shyamasree Basu, eminent senior artist; Gautam De, Regional Director of ICCR (Kolkata); Mimi Das, President Women’s Cell and In-charge of NHRO; Samraggi Mukherjee, Mrs India International 2018; Debopam Sarkar, reporter of Kolkata TV.

There were 92 participants from India and Russia participating in this event. RICE has been doing such events throughout the year in various places and in many ways.

The program had two sub-events – ‘A seminar on Think Equal, Build Smart and Innovate for Change’ and Tales of Woman in Art organised by Woman Times. The seminar had panellists from different fields like – Alokananda Roy (Social Worker and Danceuse), Sujata Sett (Director, Good Image Private Limited), Sudeep Ranjan Sarkar (Filmmaker/Painter/Psychologist), Shree Ghatak (Social Worker and Founder of Troyee Foundation), Kirti Asopa Choudhury, Lawyer, Dr. Kausiki Ray, In-charge of IVF Centre, AMRI and Tathagata Choudhury, a performing artist and Founder of Theatrician.

The other program on different women and their story of struggle were being depicted at ‘Tales of Woman in Art’. The event witnessed the presence of Madhumita Bishnu, eminent photographer; Guru Sanchita Bhattacharya, International Odissi Danceuse; Sumona Neogi, singer; Dr Moitrisha Bhattacharjee, Trina Sanyal, renowned photographer as speakers of the forum.

The participation spirit was high among all the participants and there were three categories, namely, painting, sculptor and photography. The winners in Painting are Prabir Bagchi (1st Prize), Sudip Chandra (2nd Prize), Atreyee Das (3rd Prize). The winners in Sculptor is Manoj Samanta and in Photography are Sandipan Ghosh (1st Prize), Namrata Mukherjee (2nd Prize), Diana Odintsova from Russia (3rd Prize).
