26th January, Kolkata: On the 69th Republic Day celebration Woman Times with the help of the entire Metro Railways department celebrated the day with the ‘jhuro basti’ children giving them a free ride from the Metro Railways department from Mahanayak Uttam Kumar Metro Station to Noapara and back.
The celebration was graced Mrs. Sanjeeta Vijayvargiya, wife of GM Kolkata Metro Railways, Protyush Kr. Ghosh, DGM Metro Railways, Moonmoon Chakraborty, CEO Woman Times, Tirthasundar Biswas, Sohoj Manush, Lipi Choudhury, poet and anchor, and Sayoni.
The children danced and played in the metro train while enjoying the food given by the Metro Railways. Another organisation participating in the celebration was the Park Pragati Human Rights Organisation.
