Geet Govindam and Khuti Puja merges to give a flavour to the biggest festival of Bengal

18th August 2018, Kolkata – Recently she occupied a good space in all the media communications through her recent achievement with receiving the Mahari award and the stage performance of ‘Chitrangada’, Guru Dr Sanchita Bhattacharya, the internationally acclaimed Odissi Danseuse who conducted a very successful 3 days Odissi dance workshop on 13th, 14th, and 15th, at Budge Budge Manjir. A total of 40 students attended to learn an Astapadi (for the senior group) and Mangalacharan (for the junior group). The students were enriched not only in dance but also in the scriptures and the inner spiritual meaning of ‘Geeta Govindam’.

The workshop followed the ‘Khuti Pujo’ of DN Ghosh Road Sarbojonin Durgotshob Committee at Budge Budge, Kolkata on 15th August morning. This year it will be the 45th celebration of the biggest festival of the Bengalis, the Durga Pujo. It is one of the largest Durga Puja in Budge Budge. The program was inaugurated by MLA Ashok Deb, Danseuse Guru Dr Sanchita Bhattacharya, Mrs Phulu Dey (Budge Budge Municipality Chairperson), Smt. Rita Pal, Janab Fazlul  Haque (Vice Chairman of Pujali Municipality Chairperson), Shri Bijoy Maity (President of the Puja Committee) and others.
