Help Us to Help You celebrates Durga Puja with pomp and glory

8th October 2018, Woman Times Desk, Kolkata –

The festive has gripped the pulses of the city but that has made few social activists more active to spread happiness and harmony. Help us to Help You (Kolkata), a youth club registered with NYKS, walks on the similar line with an event where 80 street children of Rashbehari Avenue, Kolkata will enjoy a day on 8th October, the auspicious day of Mahalaya at the Lake Mall, Kolkata. The event was graced by few known personalities of the city – Smt Riddhi Bandyopadhyay, Sri Avirup Sengupta, and Smt. Mimi Das.

The children watched a film show at the Multiplex, followed by distribution of new clothes to them and lunch. After which they sat for a sit and draw competition. As Mr. Sudipta Ghosh, the President of Help Us to Help You (Kolkata) says,

“We have been working with the street children since years and every year on special occasions we try to do something for them, despite the fact that this is nothing as compared to the sustainability if we think. Moreover, we have been also helping a child who is suffering from liver failure. We are also obliged to one of the city’s leading hospital to help us through the treatment with more than 20 lakhs investment.”

The guests expressed the warmth of their heart to see the children smile, play and enjoy. As Riddi Bandyopadhyay sings a Rabindra Sangeet, Mimi Das says, “The work should not be confined within the closed doors or special occasions. We all should help each other to help the children live a better life.”

Sri Avirup Sengupta says,

“I am mesmerised to come and see the children full of life. I would have missed this beautiful event, had I not been present today. A good beginning for the Puja.”
