‘Ki Sur Baaje Amar Praane’ a tribute of ‘Jugalbandi’ to the maestro Tagore

Woman Times Desk, 9th September 2018, Kolkata – When the music renders the quality of life, it is the legends who are remembered with love and passion. Picasso, an event management company, has organised ‘Ki Sur Baaje Amar Praane’ a jugalbandi of music, recital and songs of Tagore. On Sarod was the internationally renowned sarod player Dr Rajeeb Chakraborty, songs from Sutapa Sarkar Bandapadhyay, a  Rabindra Sangeet exponent and Srovonti Bandopadhyay, a journalist, writer and a member of the State Women’s Commission, recited the verses. This blend of music is immensely supported by the all-time famous Pandit Biplob Mondal who played the dholki and tabla, and Sitangshu, who played the keyboard.

Santa Dutta, the owner of Picasso, says, “We generally organise such musical events and hence this jugalbandi is an experiment that we believe will charm the Tagore lovers. The performing team is musically good and very popular.”

The evening at the Sisir Mancha was a hit as the efforts blended into the passion of music, the universal language of love.
