Mirchi Ka Halwa

Hi! Its your Ronit here again with a special dessert to feed your inquisitive mind and tummy. This is a simple recipe yet has all the magical elements. So if you have always thought desserts to be a sweet affair then hold your hearts this chilli ingredient will smash your thoughts. Let’s unlearn all sugary fundas and learn ‘Mirchi ka Halwa‘.

Ingredients:

  1. Green chilli- 50gm
  2. Vinegar- 2tbspn
  3. Desi ghee- 2tbspn
  4. Semolina (sooji) – 2tbspn
  5. Sugar – 3tbspn
  6. Cardamom (elachi) powder – 1tbspn

  7. Mawa – 1/2cup

Method:

  1. First slit the chillies and take out all the seeds and keep aside.
  2. Take a pan add water and boil it and add vinegar than add the deseed chillies boil it and strain the water out.
  3. Repeat this process three times changes the water all time to take out the extra sharpness and spiciness of the chillies. Paste the boiled green chillies…
  4. Then take a pan add ghee let it get hot and add the boiled chillies and saute nicely in medium heat for 4 to 5 minutes.
  5. Add semolina to it for binding and saute it for around 2 to 3 minutes more.
  6. Then add sugar cook gently don’t caramelize the sugar lower the flame and mix it so the sugar mix it up wisely with the halwa.
  7. Finally add mawa mix it finely and off the flame, add elachi powder to it mix it. Garnish with chopped almonds and pistachios and raisins and serve hot.
