Nitu Film Production presents Soumitra Chattopadhyay as a writer

Soumitra Chattopadhyay to act in the upcoming film ‘Prayas’ by Nitu film Production directed by Biswajit Mukherjee, D. Kamal, and G. Santanu, as a writer who narrates some real stories based on his experience in life. The ‘Subha Mahurat’ of the film commenced on 31st May 2017, inaugurated by the heart of the Bengali film industry – Soumitra Chattopadhyay.

The film is about three short stories of the three women and their struggle in life which is co-related through Soumitra Chattopadhyay’s narration of the respective stories as a writer.  Biswajit Mukherjee, one of the directors of the film says, “Prayas is about the middle-class group of women, their wants, and desires and the ups and downs that they face. It is all about women empowerment.” The music is done by Shamik Guha Roy and Saurav Chowdhury.

Mousumi Bhattacharya shares her experience, of the first day with Soumitra Chattopadhyay, with WT, “It is a tough question being asked several times by the journalists, I think to work with him speaks everything. My career has started with many senior and experienced actors of the industry but it is a dream comes true for anyone to work with Soumitra Chattopadhyay. So I am really excited to spend the day with him.” who is playing the role of a grand-daughter in the film. On the same note, Biswajit Mukherjee says, “Working with Soumitra Chattopadhyay is a dream project. When the shooting started I was a bit nervous as working with an artist of such a high stature. He is one of the most valuable artists of India and one of the most senior artists too.”

The members of the Nitu Film Production are all very excited about this project. Nabanita Bhattacharjee, the producer of the Nitu Film Production says, “This era talks about women upliftment and emancipation, and our film Prayas also goes in sync with the concept where women fight for their freedom and independence.” All the directors and actors in the movie are positive about the film and its success. “It is a fresh work so I am sure people will like it as here Soumitra Chattopadhyay is portrayed in a different way. When he is there the film will definitely go a long way,” adds Mousumi Bhattacharya.

The film is expected to hit the theaters in the month of September this year and will be a festive gift from the Nitu Film Production to the cinema lovers.
