Recently in Purulia, there commenced Purulia’s Basanta Utsav and Poetry Festival named ‘Palashe Basanta’ at Sonkupi Banjara Camp. It was an innovative festival which happened for the first time in the camp. There was a galaxy of dignitaries present in the program.

Sujit Kumar, the owner of the Sonkupi Banjara Camp, expresses his happiness being present there. Therefore, he said that as before this the district of Purulia has not witnessed such a big program. He wishes to be with this festival every year.
Tourists present at the festival:
There were many tourists who participated in the festival. Asking Tirtha about their feedback he replies with pleasure, “We did not expect this, that the tourists will like the festival and participate. They conveyed to us that it was one of the rare cultural events they have witnessed in that place.”
Such events promote the literature, music and different forms of traditional art. And not only that but with it, but the tourism of Purulia also gets promoted. It is a place of scenic beauty. With camps now, it has become easy to enjoy the place staying there for a few nights.
