If you poke a dead body, will it a response to your action?

Certainly, No.

The ability to respond to any circumstance, situation or anything is known as responsibility.

What is Responsibility?

Our body and mind generally respond to everything. For example, it is responding to the air, weather change, emotions and many other things. The only thing is that it responds automatically and we are not conscious of it. So rather it can be said that conscious responding to any situation is known to be ‘responsible’. If you take the responsibility for all the actions and situations of your life including what you are doing and facing, your life will change 360 degrees. You will feel much more relaxed and eventually you will be at distance of blame game. If you are responsible then it is obvious that you can change any situation you want to.

There are always two options to opt for a situation.

Here I will try to clarify the difference between the two.

Reaction V/S Respond:

The reaction is typically quick, without much intervention and thought and generally aggressive. It’s an unconscious act. A reaction provokes more reactions-perpetuating a long line of hatefulness with nothing accomplished. On the other hand, the response is typically calm and non-threatening and a conscious act. It always bears good fruits.

Story/Case Study:

In a restaurant, suddenly a cockroach flew from somewhere and sat on a lady. She started screaming out of fear. She got frightened and started jumping, with both of her hands trying to get rid of the cockroach. Her reaction was contagious and all in her group was also panicked. The lady finally managed to push the cockroach to a waiter. Then the waiter stood firm, composed himself and observed the behaviour of the cockroach on his shirt. When he was confident enough, he grabbed and threw it out with his finger.
Now just reflect, was the cockroach responsible for the horrifying act of the lady? If so, then why was the waiter not disturbed? He handled it near to perfection without any chaos.
The lady reacted and the waiter responded.

Analogy:

You can also correlate the difference by seeing a bottle of soda and an oxycool mineral water. When you open a bottle of soda it splashes out, makes sound and overflow and some of its content gets wasted. Whereas, if you open a mineral water bottle nothing such happens like a soda bottle. So, soda bottle reacts and mineral water responds.

In your course of the journey, so always choose to respond rather than react. Try to keep this story in mind and goes on implementing in your life. When you choose to respond, you will gain more clarity and your decision-making ability will increase.
