The Fifth Note launches its dance wing

10th September 2017, Kolkata – The Fifth Note, a music academy pioneered by classical music maestro Ustad Rashid Khan, launches its dance wing named ‘Moves’ this morning at Kala Kunj. ‘Moves’ has been formally inaugurated by Hariharan’s wife, Lalitha.

The Fifth Note is a musical academy launched in various cities of the country with the aim to train the singers to be the best performers. They have a different academic module, mentors supporting the learning and the CWM (Conversation With Maestros) factor which makes the initiative altogether different and helpful for the children who want to pursue singing as their profession. Tata Capital is the academic partner of the project.

Joyeeta Basu Khan, the curator, and conceptualizer of the project and also the Managing Director of TFN says, “Children should learn music in a playful manner.” She further adds, “I bow before the maestros and the faculties for training the kids and preparing them for the future.”

Pandit Debojyoti Bose, Pandit Tanmoy Bose, Mandira Lahiri and Haimanti Shukla are the expert academic council and Pandit Rajendra Gangani will lead the dance unit of the TFN and Rujuta Soman will act as the Dean of the ‘Moves’. The event started with the classical performance by the TFN children and faculties followed by a session by Ustad Rashid Khan, Hariharan, Haimanti Shukla, Mandira Lahiri which was moderated by the actor Gargi RoyChowdhury.
