“Being a trans-woman I believe that every woman bears the essence of goddess ‘Durga’ and that should not be just limited to the stereotypical women but one like us can also depict the power of ‘Durga’ and with this concept prior to the festive season of Durga Puja I planned for this event” says Megh Sayantan Ghosh. The program started with few song performances followed by poetry and dance number.

While speaking to the audience Alakananda Roy says, “Humanity does not come with gender. One should always put in the shoes of the other person to judge any situation.” The auditorium brimmed with applauds and praises when Manabi Bandapadhyay sang a Tagore song ‘keno emon holo amar ye joubone...’ the audience were dumbstruck and she further added, “I was pushed to fight and people who pushed me are now welcoming me in all spheres. It is their change in outlook and we are the change makers.”

The program was highly appreciated and the concept of Megh Sayantan Ghosh shall work as a future reference for more such events.
