Two facile recipes with mango- Mango Milkshake and Kesar Mango Mousse

It’s the season of mangoes and everyone is posting pictures of delicious food churned out of mangoes. You are craving some mango dishes but are not really confident about your skills in the kitchen. Well, you don’t need to. Here are two delightful and simple recipes for all you mango lovers out there.

Recipe 1- Mango Milkshake

Ingredients:

Mango- 500gm

Milk- 250-350 ml

Castor sugar- as per taste of mango

(You may choose to skip sugar like I do to reduce calorie intake or may replace it with sugar substitutes)

Method:

  • Wash and deskin the mangoes.
  • Wash your hands and take the pulp out.
  • Blend all the ingredients in a blender.
  • Add some ice and blend again.
  • Pour in tall glasses and decorate with a straw and a parasol.

Recipe 2- Kesari Mango Mousse

Ingredients:

Mango – 200gm

Whipped cream-1 cup (after whipping)

Kesar soaked in milk- few strands

Sugar- ½ cup

Method:

  • Wash and peel the mango and chop them.
  • Blend them in a blender with the sugar.
  • Stiffly beat the whipped cream using a beater till stiff peaks form.
  • Add the mango puree and the soaked kesar to the whipped cream and fold in gently using a spatula. Do not mix vigorously as it will remove the air bubbles from the whipped cream.
  • Fill the mixture in glass cups or plastic cups uniformly.
  • Refrigerate the mousse for two hours to let it set. Garnish with kesar strands or a dollop of whipped cream.
