When festive seasons become the best way to promote awareness, the nation grows

Kolkata, 8th June 2019: Women and menstruation both are unpredictable and have changes in respect to each other. Distribution of sanitary napkins are also growing with the increasing awareness promotion programs but ‘Eid with Angels’ stands different as the program encouraged one to one session with the teenage girls, from the Star Welfare Society, about their hygiene factors and knowhow.

Organised by Mimi Das, the President Women’s Cell and In-charge National Human Rights Organization, the event was held at City Sizzlers on 7th June. Special guests to make the program a success were Soumya Bakshi, Shaktipratap Singh, Sangita Sinha, Sneha Subir Chakraboty, Md. Aamar Zaki, Partha Karmakar, Lopamudra Mandal were the guests to grace the occasion and make the event more meaningful. Another member of NHRO Howrah, Ankita Sinha, has also extended her helping hands towards the success of this initiative.

The event started with the interaction between the guests and the teenage girls on personal hygiene and few facts on health. Sanitary napkins were distributed to the girls signifying the negation of the taboo related to it. The guests comfiratbly posed with the sanitary pads supporting the positive appeal for the menstrual cycle of girls.

Mimi Das says, “I have been organising this event since last year and will continue every year to promote personal hygiene in girls and to make them aware of the health facts. Privileged students can learn from their schools but for these angels we are the only consort. Moreover today’s girls are tomorrow’s mothers.”

The session was successful with the help of Rajiv Jayaswal, the owner of City Sizzlers, who have extended his cooperative hands for the event. Every girl is the future of the nation,  nurturing them is a way to the nation’s progress.
