Decoupled Web Series Review

‘Decoupled’ Web Series Review: The Comedy of Separation

Today, you will be reading the decoupled review. The uninitiated is about the latest web series to hit the OTT screens on your smartphones. Decoupled is a web series on dysfunctional relationships. The movie will take you through a roller coaster ride, or emotions, guilt, and regrets. However, you will be thrilled to see that the serious topic has been handled quite maturely with dollops of humor. The story begins with the couple in question talking about a split.

Decoupled – Web Series Review

As you can expect, the audience will be entering the lives of Arya and Shruti when all the initial drama is over. The male protagonist is a successful pulp fiction writer, and the female protagonist is a startup founder. The series revolves around the high-class drama of the upper-middle class society, somewhere in Gurgaon.

If you delve into the character o Arya, you will feel that he is an extension of Manu Joseph, who has created the series. The web series review will tell you if you should or should not watch the series. Well! It is a perspective that only you will be able to decipher. Arya, played by R Madhavan, is not the kind of man you would want to spend your evening with. As a writer, he is always into himself. Moreover, he is very much away from emotions.

R Madhavan plays the role, much like himself, and you will be able to find shades of his nature in real life. Surveen Chawla plays the role of Shruti Sharma Iyer, the better half of the relationship. She has a daughter to take care of and whom she wants to protect, but not at the cost of her peace of mind. You will find Shruti’s parents playing their part quite realistically. Additionally, the writer Chetan Bhagat also has a role to play here.

The story delves into the lives of individuals, which is a distance apart from social media. Manu Joseph quite skilfully creates the perfect backdrop of a marriage on the rocks, with various occurrences happening side by side. They are also that quintessential couple who always fight amongst themselves in front of their teenage daughter.

The story is based on new-age relations and revolves around the changing dynamics of marriage. You can pretty well understand how the entire world revolves around the characters. There is pretty much a Arya and Shruti in every family. Arya also comes across a sexist streak of his nature, where he always abuses domestic help. The theme deals with past-life girlfriends and other such issues as well.

More Content The Need Today

Shruti is also one of those women who always seem unhappy about their sex lives. This will leave the audience in splits. You can find some of your own life’s situations being upheld by the creator. The creator has managed to tickle the funny bones to some extent, but many things still need to be added on.

The performances are too good and will surely demand an appraisal. But the success of any series or any story depends on the content. There seems to be a punch amiss. However, this is good if you want some content apart from action or romance. You should see the web series for R Madhavan and Surveen atleast. This is the Decoupled Web Series Review for you.
