Gondhoraji Beet Cake

When the amazing health benefits of beet gets served as a tasty cake, and the aroma of gondhoraj lemon fills your mouth with water, it sets a perfect mood for the winter evenings.

Ingredients:

Beet- 1 pc

Gondhoraj lemon essence- 2 pcs

Gondhoraj lemon juice – 2 tsp

All-purpose flour (Maida)- 1 cup

Yogurt- 1 cup

Powdered sugar- 1 cup

Baking powder- 1 tsp

Baking soda- 1/2 tsp

Salt- 1/4 tsp

Rice bran oil- 1/2 cup

Butter- 1 tbsp

Refined Oil- 1 tbsp

Cashew, Almond, Pistachio(Pista)- 15 gms

Process:

  • Cut the beet into small pieces and wash it properly.
  • Take a pan and add 2 cup water. Boil the beet for some time and paste it.
  • Take a glass bowl and add the beet paste, powdered sugar, yogurt, rice bran oil, baking powder, baking soda, lemon essence and juice and mix them well to form the cake batter.
  • Take a bowl and grease it with oil and butter. Dust the pan with all-purpose flour and pour the cake batter into it.
  • Take a frying pan and place a hot pot pan on it. Put the batter on the hot pot pan and close the lid. Keep it in low flame for 20 minutes.
  • Open the lid and place the nuts as toppings. Close the lid again and steam it for another 20 minutes. Take out the cake and serve it hot and soft.
