Coconut Malai Barfi

Coconut Malai Barfi: a moist dessert for all seasons

Dessert is everyone’s favourite and coconut malai barfi is one of the most common and easy recipes. The taste of coconut blends fantastically with milk and malai to give the much-desired flavour.

Ingredients for Coconut Malai Barfi:

Milk – 1/5 cup

Sugar – 1/2 cup

Cardamom powder – 1/4 tsp

Desiccated coconut powder – 1.5 cup

Milk Malai or Fresh cream – 2 tbsp

Milk powder – 1/2 cup

Green food colour – 1/2 tsp

Process:

  • Take a pan and heat milk.
  • Add 1/2 cup sugar and once it melts add 1/4 tsp cardamom powder, descicated coconut powder and keep stiring.
  • Add fresh cream to the liquid mixture and then add milk powder. Make a fine dough.
  • Divide the dough in two parts. Add green food colour to one dough and keep the other part as it is.
  • Take a bowl and place a butter paper.
  • Take the white dough and place in the bowl. On the top of it add the green dough.
  • Freeze the bowl and then take out, cut it into pieces.

Garnish it with almonds and serve the guests.
